Product Description
DESCRIPTION:
- Lower unit for 2.0 to 2.5 liter engines most 135 to 175 HP
- Bullet diameter 4-3/4"
APPLICATION RECOMMENDATION:
- We recommend 2:1 gear ratio for 135-150HP.
- We recommend 1.87:1 gear ratio for 175 HP and above
- Please make sure what ratio you need.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
- Fits 20" or 25" midsections.
- 23" from top of the drive shaft to the mounting surface (top of housing) for 20" exhaust or midsection
- 28" from top of the drive shaft to the mounting surface (top of housing) for 25" exhaust or midsection
- Gear Ratio: 2:1 means gear Count: 14/28
- Gear Ratio: 1.87:1 means gear Count: 15/28
- 15 spline propeller shaft for 15 spline propellers.
- 8 splines driveshaft
- Bullet diameter 4-3/4"
IMPORTANT APPLICATION NOTES:
- Replaces MOST but maybe not all, Mercury 2.0, 2.4 and 2.5 liter V6 Engines - 135hp to 225hp
- No available with the optional 2.3:1 high altitude gear set.
- Not designed to replace Sport Master, Torque Master, CLE or other high performance gearcases
- 25" transom models 1988 and older use a five inch spacer between a standard 20" midsection and lower unit. Longer mounting studs were installed into those gearcases. The lower unit does not come with the longer studs. The old studs must be reused or new ones sourced elsewhere.
- Please note these models use a plastic water pump.
- You must verify your Gear Ratio.
- Comes with water pump, but NO oil.
