PLEASE SEND US YOUR ENGINE MODEL NUMBER, SERIAL NUMBER, AND YOUR GEAR RATIO. WITH THAT INFO WE CAN SHIP THE RIGHT LOWER UNIT.
PLEASE READ BEFORE ORDERING
- It fits MOST but maybe NOT all 200-225-250 HP engines from 1994 & UP.
- It fits Mercury Optimax, Carb, and EFI
- Replaces Mercury lower unit 859399T14
DESCRIPTION:
- NEW aftermarket LOWER UNIT, not a remanufactured unit or a rebuilt unit
- Warranty: 3 year no fault warranty
- 100% OEM compatible, Bolt on application
- Includes water pump and shaft
- Does NOT include anode kit and gearcase OIL
- No core charge, keep your old unit
TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
- Propeller Shaft: 15 spline for 15 spline propellers.
- Upper Drive Shaft Spline Count: 13 teeth
DETERMINE SHAFT LENGTH.
- Measure from the top of the drive shaft to the top of the aluminum housing or the mounting surface:
- For 20" midsection engines, model L. About 23" top of drive shaft to top of mounting surface
- For 25" midsection engine model XL. About 28" top of drive shaft to top of mounting surface
- For 30" midsection engine, model XXL. About 33" top of drive shaft to top of mounting surface
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT GEAR RATIO: 3.0 liter engines uses 2 gear ratio: 1.62:1 or 1.75:1
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT DRIVE SHAFT WITH 8 SPLINES:
- If you have an 8 Spline drive shaft you will need a lower unit with a short shaft about 9-1/4" long designed. You will need to buy the coupler or stub shaft and an upper driveshaft extension from an-OE dealer. We can also sell it if we have it.
